SART brings together individuals and organizations from a broad range of animal interest, united around the common goal of preventing and responding to animal emergencies. These SART entities recognize the critical role of animals in our society, and their value. SART helps focus these efforts on what unites, rather than divides them. All SART entities are strongly encouraged to utilize the resources here to prevent and mitigate disasters.
SART is typically organized at the local level as County Animal Response Teams (CARTs). In states that do not have a county structure, we use other local designations as appropriate.
